Low Carb Living Is Now INDEX
For the past couple of years we have been sending out Low Carb Living on a weekly basis. While we certainly support low carb eating we thought that a Low Glycemic approach is more conducive to the direction of our company Steviva Brands. We started out back in 1998 touting the benefits of Low Glycemic but, frankly when Low Carb came along it seemed like a good opportunity to expand our market.
Low Glycemic is very close to a low carb diet but, less stringent in regard to what you can and can not eat. You can eat pasta, bread and potatoes... you will simply eat more whole grains and eat these carbs in moderation.
Recently investigators reported that patients in a low-glycemic group reported less hunger than their low-fat or low-carb counterparts, and further, the slowing down in their metabolism was less than that seen in either group. Consequently, they were able to keep the weight off more efficiently than patients in the either group. Furthermore, the low-glycemic weight loss produced a greater reduction in triglyceride levels, insulin resistance, and blood pressure than either group.
The bottom line is that losing weight is still a matter of reducing the calories you eat and increasing the calories you burn up. But it really matters what kind of calories you do eat when losing weight makes a lot of difference.
