Avoiding certain foods will help you avoid gaining belly fat, which is both unappealing and detrimental to your health.

You know that your eating habits influence how much weight you gain or lose, and that a share of it ends up around your middle. But studies show there's a link between the typical American "meat and potatoes" diet and fat that builds up around your middle, giving the old adage "sticks to your ribs" new meaning.

Americans love red meat, but consuming a lot of red meat can add to the "spare tire" around your middle. Instead, choose fish, lean poultry, meatless soy products and legumes (lentils, dry beans, peas).

Trans fats, found in foods that are made with hydrogenated oils, have been shown to contribute to an increase in weight. But what's interesting is that the weight gained accumulates disproportionately within the abdominal region. Choose trans fat free foods and restaurants.

Evidence suggests that America's love for refined flour, refined sugar, and high fructose corn syrup is responsible for tummy fat as well. Low Glycemic Sugar Free New York Cheese Cake
Serves: 10
Carbs Per Serving: 6.7 g
Prep Time:<35 minutes

Skill Level: Easy

Ingredients:
Crust:

1 c almond flour, (almonds ground in a coffee grinder or food processor)
1/4 c ground flaxseed
1/4 c butter
1/4 c
Steviva Brand Stevia Blend or a tiny sprinkle of Steviva Brand Stevia Powder
1 scoop vanilla or chocolate whey

Crust Instructions:
Melt the butter then mix it all up till its crumbly and incorporated and press it down with your hands in a sprayed 8 in pie or springform pan.

Bake at 350 for 10 mins and let it cool to room temp while you make the filling.

Ingredients:
Filling:
2 8oz packs (2 c) cream cheese or neufchatel
1/2 c sour cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 scoop vanilla whey
1/2 c
Steviva Brand Stevia Blend or a tiny sprinkle of Steviva Brand Stevia Powder
1 c water
1 envelope unflavored gelatin (sugar free)

Instructions:
Filling:

Beat cream cheese, sour cream, vanilla extract, whey, gelatin and Steviva blend at medium speed until well-blended. Blend

Then pour batter into almond flour prepared crust.

Bake at 350 F for 40 minutes, or until center is almost set. Cool.

For best results refrigerate for 3 hours.

Optional: Garnish with fresh berries
