Living In Gratitude
being thankful to all that is for all that is
Our lives can be such a treasure trove of rich and beautiful experiences if we just allow it into our lives. For some of us this process might not be completely clear considering circumstances that may surround us. This is where faith comes in; the faith and belief and more importantly patience that something better lies just around the corner awaiting our discovery. There is a great proverb that reads, “the darkest hour is just before dawn”. Dawn has occurred for millions of years. And barring a few solar flares that mess up our cell phones and TV reception, the sun will rise daily brining us the life sustaining rays of light that wash away the darkness and help us thrive.
It has been said that “whatever we are grateful for the universe with provide us with more”. In the crazy world of non-stop text messages, Facebook, phone calls, emails and basic over stimulation it is easy for us to lose sight of just how fortunate we all are. Here are a few tips on keeping our lives in perspective and being thankful every day for what we have and who we are.
See life as a gift: There is an old Buddhist adage that says that life is as rare as throwing a ring into the ocean and having it land around a turtle's neck. To bring “you” into the world took the stars to align and all things coming together as once. It was not by chance. It was more by design. You have been given the gift of life. While a lifetime seems like, well… a lifetime, it passes so quickly; in a blink of an eye they say. Recognize this. Welcome it in and celebrate it. You have been given the greatest gift of all – life.
Get into the now: A person once told me that this very moment is a gift and that is why they call it a present. Having two feet firmly grounded in the present allows you to take in the rich experience that life is. If you have one foot in the past and one in the future it is not hard to see what is going on with your present. Keep your head in the right now. Sure… write down your goals and reflect fondly on your past but, live right here right now and you will see the world blossom before your eyes.
Celebrate the good: Nothing or nobody is all good and all bad. There are always shades of grey and goodness in all things. Learn to recognize the good and let go and forgive the bad. Acknowledging success, accomplishment and all things good makes life an easy celebration. Focus on the good and make a party of it. By doing so is your act of gratitude and thanks for what has been gifted to you.
Cut yourself a break: Not everything will turn out your way. Something you may experience an unwelcome outcome that you didn't expect. This happens to everybody. There is nobody to blame particularly you. We learn from our mistakes and grow from our failures. The other day my daughter was being particularly hard on herself for making a mistake. It broke my heart but, I explained to her that making a mistake is the most powerful way for us to learn. If you are not failing and making mistakes you are not trying. Failure shows us we put forth effort. Give yourself a break. Figure out another way to do it and march on little soldier.
Pay it forward: In this world of over stimulation it is easy to leave grace on the sidelines. The words thank you and please have seemed to vanished somewhere into cyberspace. Acknowledge the people that have helped you get to where you are. Thank them and then pay it forward to somebody in your world who looks like they need a helping hand of some words of encouragement.
In closing, I feel gratitude and thanks for you [FIRST_NAME]. Yes you [FIRST_NAME]. Without “you” there would be nobody to read these words I write each week and nobody buying our products. You… and you know who I'm talking to; have helped us build this business and allowed me to carry on. For this you have all my gratitude and thanks.
Thank all of you for your patronage.
Have a sensational week ahead!

YOUR MIND
[FIRST_NAME] The Power To Succeed is Yours
Max Steingart
Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibility. Your life to a large extent is what you make of it. Nothing will happen by itself. It will all come your way once you understand that you have to make it come your way.
Choose the thoughts and actions that will lead you to success. Nobody can do it for you.
Only you can make it happen. You're the only one that has to live your life.
The day you take complete responsibility for yourself, the day you stop making any excuses, that's the day you start on the road to success.
You have the power to succeed at anything. The power to fulfill your dreams is within you.
You must go to success, it doesn't come to you.
Open your own doors to opportunity.

YOUR BODY
Thyroid Health
have you been told yours is normal
The thyroid gland is located in your throat and is the center for metabolic activity, or lack there of if one is struggling with weight problems. A thyroid disorder can cause hypothyroidism, low functioning, hyperthyroidism, high functioning, or be a combination of these two. Hypothyroidism is most common and affects 10 million Americans, and approximately 10% of women. Common symptoms are fatigue, loosing hair, depression, trouble loosing weight, cold extremities, and dry skin.
Often in the main stream medical community the thyroid will be tested, however the results will be within "normal range", and thus be a closed case, leaving a person to be still searching for the cause of their problems. However, this "normal range" is variable, and which tests are being run is a crucial assessment. An analogy to illustrate this point is let's say you are in your living room with a guest, and they ask you what it looks like outside, and you look through the front door peep hole, and say it looks "fine or normal", this representing taking a TSH test to check the thyroid, when in fact this hormone is actually coming from the pituitary gland. The anterior pituitary gland is secreting TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) to talk to the thyroid gland to produce its hormones. Conversely, one could open the front door to check how it is outside, representing taking multiple other thyroid tests to accurately measure what the thyroid is doing, such as Free T3, Free T4, and others.
If you have been told your thyroid is "normal", yet you still have unexplained symptoms, investigate your thyroid further with a Naturopathic Doctor.

YOUR SPIRIT
Re-framing Misperceptions
over-coming prosperity issues on lack at a time
We all know what it feels like to want something we don’t have. It may be a pair of expensive jeans, a romantic partner, or rent money; it may be a certain attitude, a car, or a savings account. This is part of life, and in the best-case scenario, we experience a constant flow of money and material possessions, companions and experiences, in and out of our lives. However, many of us linger in a state of wanting and not having, a state of lack that never seems to subside. We consistently perceive ourselves as not having what we need or not having what we want. This is an energetically draining state to be in. It is also self-perpetuating because how we feel about ourselves determines what we are able to create for ourselves.
How we feel profoundly influences how we perceive our reality. When we feel we are lacking, we look around and see what is not there. On the other hand, if we feel abundant, we can look at the very same situation and see a completely different picture, one full of blessings and advantages. The more we see the blessings, the more abundant we feel, and the more blessings we attract. Similarly, if we see lack, we tend to create and attract that energy.
If you find yourself habitually residing in a feeling of lack, it may be due to a core belief formed in your childhood or even in a past life. It may be because you are out of touch with your inner divinity, which is the source of your abundance. In any case, know that your perception of lack is a misperception that can be corrected with awareness and effort. It can be as simple as taking 10 or 15 minutes each day to quiet your mind and imagine yourself in a state of unlimited abundance, handling the financial demands and others in your life with total ease, drawing from an endless supply of resources. Know that it is your birthright to be fully supported in the fulfillment of your needs and desires.
YOUR RECIPE
No Added Sugar Roasted Chicken with Sweet Plum Sauce
Total Servings 4
Serving Size 1 quarter chicken
Carbs Per Serving: 1 g
Prep Time:<60 minutes
Skill Level: Moderate
[FIRST_NAME] Sweet plum sauce can be found in the Asian section of your supermarket. It’s the same sweet, slightly tart, jam-like sauce that some Chinese restaurants give you to dip your fried egg rolls in. This sauce is wonderful paired with pork chops, chicken seared duck breast or a simple grilled fish. The only problem with Plum Sauce is all the sugar it contains. Up to twice as much as soda pop. Here is an awesome and east to make recipe with Plum Sauce that is exotic and delicious but, without all the added sugar.
Ingredients:
1 whole chicken
1/4 cup sweet plum sauce (see below)
1 head of garlic, halved
1 lemon, quartered
salt
pepper
3 tablespoons butter, softened
kitchen twine
1/4 cup sweet plum sauce to serve at table
Instructions:
Prepare plum sauce (see below) and set aside.
Rinse chicken and cut away extra fat.
Pat dry with paper towels inside and out.
Place in shallow baking dish and rub softened butter all over chicken, tucking just a bit under the skin of breast.
Season generously with salt and pepper outside and inside cavity.
Stuff with garlic and lemon.
Tie legs of the chicken together, slather sweet plum sauce all over chicken.
Set breast side down.
Let sit 30 minutes at room temperature.
Preheat oven to 450F.
Roast chicken 20 minutes.
Turn breast side up, lower temperature to 375F and return to oven.
Continue to roast another 45-60 minutes, brushing with additional sweet plum sauce towards the end.
You may have to loosely tent with tin foil if skin is approaching maximum crispiness (i.e. don’t burn the skin.)
Chicken is done when juices run clear as knife tip is inserted into chicken thigh. Thickest part of thigh without touching bone should register 170F.
Let chicken rest 10 minutes before carving.
Serve with a side of sweet plum sauce for dipping.
