What's In Your Litter Box?
letting go of the past to embrace the present

An acquaintance of mine once told me that if you have one foot in the present and one in the past you are dumping on your present. When you break it all down you find that the past no longer exists that is because well… it's passed. There is nothing you can bring from your past except an experience to learn from. The future too does not exist either and focusing too much on future based thinking can create fear and dread. The Dalai Lama once said “it is not death that man fears so much but, what happens afterwards” and nobody know for sure what happens. That is the kind of future based thinking that keeps us stuck and diminishes the perfection of living in the now. Once you begin to allow yourself to live in the exact present without worrying about your future or dwelling on your past the world begins to unfold before your very eyes like a beautiful blooming lotus. Think about clinging to the railing as you ascend the stairs. As you arrive at the top what would happen if you didn't let go of the rails? You would stay stuck at the top and never reach your destination. One rail is the future and one is he past. Just let go.

We all carry baggage from our past; our failures, blunders and occasions that were so good we believe they will never be better. I call this the litter box. It is time to scoop out what is in that litter box and create a fresh start. Here are a few tips on letting go of the past and living in the present.

Know your options. There are only three options when it comes to resolving the past. Remove from your memory, make amends and change it, or accept it and move on. Throw it away. If there is something in your little box that is particularly stinky, embrace it feel if fully and then throw it away and flush.

Eckhart Tolle once said “Worry pretends to be necessary but serves no useful purpose.” Allow yourself to let go of the worries of the past and the dread of the future and embrace the positive right here, right now.

Replace your thoughts. Notice when you begin thinking about something that takes you out of the present moment. Then shift your thought process to something more pleasant such as a new passion, hobby or habit.

Immerse yourself in a group activity. Enjoying the people in your life may help put your problems in perspective.

Use meditation or yoga to bring yourself into the present moment.

Learn a new skill or hobby and never dwell skills you never mastered.

Make a list of your accomplishments and add to it daily.

Get physical. Exercise decreases stress in your mind and body as well as increasing endorphins, chemicals that make you feel good and in the present.

Focus all your energy on things you can control, instead of focusing on things you can't.

Identify past blunders or joys and celebrate what the experience taught you.

Ink it. Write everything you want to express in a letter. Then burn it.

Laugh it out. Laughter is completely based in the present. Research shows further that laughter soothes tension, improves your immune system, and even eases pain. Break out a joke book, watch some funny videos on YouTube and start the chuckle.

Have a sensational week!

YOUR MIND

Aspirations Create Possibilities
Max Steingart

The first ingredient of your success is to dream a great dream. You must dream big and think big to be big. High expectation always precedes high achievement.

You're as small as your controlling desires, or as great as your dominant aspirations.
Once your mind stretches to a new idea it will never go back to its original dimensions.

If you dream of little goals you can expect little achievement. Dream of big goals and you'll win big success.

YOUR BODY

Tips On Boosting Your Energy Quickly and Easily
getting the heart pumping can give you a quick burst of energy

Walking, cycling, stair climbing - any activity that makes your heart pump hard qualifies as cardiovascular or aerobic exercise. It's one of the cornerstones of a good fitness program and it's the best way to burn calories, strengthen bones, and build up healthy heart and lungs. Below, some ways to build your aerobic workout.

Frequency: Stick-to-it-ness pays big rewards
For overall good health, aim for at least three half-hour aerobic workouts each week. For excellent health, it's best if you can aim for up to five workouts per week. For weight loss, up the ante a bit more. Try for four to six slightly longer sessions per week. Don't overdo it: even elite athletes should train no more than six days each week, giving their bodies a day to fully recover.

Intensity: Work out hard for best results.
You'll want to exercise with enough intensity to keep your heart pumping at 60 to 80 percent of its maximum rate. This range is called your 'heart rate training zone.' Our target heart rate calculator can figure your maximum heart rate and apply the appropriate percentages. To see if you're in your training zone, take your pulse. Count it for 10 seconds and multiply by six to get the number of beats per minute. For another approach, try to carry on a conversation with the instructor or a training partner while exercising. If you cannot speak without breathing hard, you're working too intensely. Ease up a bit so that you can comfortably carry on a conversation. You're in the training range.

Time: All it takes is 30 minutes a day.
Beginners can start with 20 minutes or three 10-minute segments interspersed throughout the day. Eventually you'll build up to a continuous half-hour exercise session.

Type: Ride, run or walk, whichever you like best.
Cardiovascular activity is any exercise that raises your heart rate for a prolonged period. There are plenty of exercises to choose from, both in the gym and outdoors. Pick one or several and get to it!

Do not forget to drink a lot of water before, during and after your work out. Drinking 64 ounces of water everyday will help boost your energy. What I suggest is adding the juice of half a lemon to 32 ounces of water with a sprinkle of Steviva Brand Stevia Powder . Aside from being less than 2 carbs, you will get the health benefits that the stevia provides along with the vitamin C and electrolytes that lemon have. You can substitute limes for lemons if you get bored. Click here to order stevia powder . Now, start splashing.

YOUR SPIRIT

Harmonizing with the Universe
The Benefits of Singing

Singing is an act of vibration. It takes music from the realm of the unformed-- whether that is in your mind or from that magical space of inspiration--and moves it from within to without. From the first breath singing moves the energy in a circular way inside your body. As the breath fills your lungs, it brushes against the second and third chakras—the centers of creation and honoring self and others. Instead of merely exhaling, pushing the air past the fourth and fifth chakras where heart charka and the center of will and intention reside, singing engages both the heart and mind. Sound vibrations from vocal chords resonate in the sinus cavities, filling the head with motion and sound while the brain lights up with the processing of the mathematics of music. This marriage of activities brings the third eye into play and opens the door for inspiration from the crown chakra before sending the sound out into the world.

Once the vibration begins, it is sustained with each note, moving throughout your body and the space around you. This can help you to harmonize your frequency with the world and with the divine. The use of the voice can bring about catharsis, a cleansing from the expression of emotion, which is why we feel better after singing certain types of songs. All of this occurs even if we are not conscious of what we are singing, but when we really connect with an intention, the power of the voice and music together are powerful tools in creation.

Even if you are not a singer by nature or talent, you are not left out. If you have a voice, it is your birthright to celebrate life with song. It doesn’t matter if you don’t feel you have a nice voice. Chanting or humming, singing solo or with others, your voice is yours to enjoy. Whether you sing along to the radio or use vocalization as part of your meditation time, singing and harmonizing are healing activities that bring your body’s vibrations into alignment with the universe.
