Stumbling Blocks as Stepping Stones
reframing negative situations into positive ones

There are two ways to look at the world: the benevolent way or the malevolent way. People with a malevolent or negative world view take a victim stance, seeing life as a continuous succession of problems and a process of unfairness and oppression. They don't expect a lot and they don't get much. When things go wrong, they shrug their shoulders and passively accept that this is the way life is and there isn't anything they can do to make it better. How do you view the world [FIRST_NAME]?

On the other hand, people with a benevolent or positive world view see the world around them as filled with opportunities and possibilities. They believe that everything happens as part of a great process designed to make them successful and happy. They approach their lives, their work, and their relationships with optimism, cheerfulness, and a general attitude of positive expectations. They expect a lot and they are seldom disappointed. This is the process of reframing your perspective.

Personally I have always lived by the philosophy of “when life hands me lemons I will make lemonade”. Sometimes this is easier said than done. So, how do we take these lemons and reframe them into a delicious refreshing drink? How do we reframe the glass as half full as opposed to half empty? It involves invoking the power of positive thinking and not being overly attached to the outcome as much as we are to the process.

Whenever you encounter a potentially negative situation try reframing the situation towards the positive. Spend some time incorporating positive thinking into your general perspective. Are wishing, hoping and positive thinking just magic or does it really work? Deepak Chopra has proven that quantum healing does work to the satisfaction of the American Medical Association. Quantum healing already has well documented cases of being effective with cancer patients. The basic quantum healing process: along with a healthy diet, meditation visualizing tumor cells getting wiped out by good disease fighting T Cells has been proven effective in some cases. This is the power of reframing and positive thought in action. This philosophy of positive thinking and creative re framing and visualization does not only apply to health, but also love, money, and future desires. Since this re framing or positive thinking technique has been proven effective, is is really worth it to stay stuck in old patterns of thinking? Just think... if I were just more positive, had faith in myself, how much better my life might be?

Psychologists foolishly warn against wishing and positive thinking techniques, saying it's childlike and delusional. Yet they make a big point about reframing. It is the same thing, take any situation, and visualize how could it better? Then focus on it, imagine every detail and practice overcoming whatever obstacles stand in the way of turning the situation to a positive. I am not suggesting that you avoid reality, but instead I ask that you envision how you could fashion your life into the most positive possible outcome.

Have an excellent day [FIRST_NAME].

Leadership Is Rooted In Action Not Position
Max Steingart

All successful people became successful, because they gave some talent or ability in the service of others. You can contribute in some way to others, no matter how small your talent. You too, can become successful.

No one achieves success without being of service. Successful people don't use others, other people use the successful, for above all success is of service.

Everyone has to be someone to someone to be anyone. Service is the essence of success.

YOUR BODY

Lift Weights, Lose Stress
how anaerobic exercise can help you lose weight and manage stress

Work out hard. The harder you work, the more endorphins you release into your system. You might want to schedule your hardest workouts for the most stressful days of your week. If going through an emotionally trying time, consider it an excellent opportunity to up the intensity of your normal routine. Naturally, we must remind you not to substantially increase the amount of weight you're lifting or the intensity of your exercise without consulting your physician.

Work out early. Exercise has a well-known residual feel-good effect, probably due to endorphins that may linger in the system. The duration will differ for each person and each workout, although you can generally count on four to six hours of leftover effect, after which the endorphins will taper off. During unusually stressful times, an early morning workout might help get you through the tough day. But don't push it if you're not a morning person. A lunchtime workout would be fine.

Hit the big muscle groups. The bigger the muscle group you're working, the greater the effort, the greater the release of endorphins, and the more oxygen flow to your brain. On days of high stress, consider spending more time with your squats and bench presses than on your wrist curls and toe raises.

Shed some light on the subject. Scads of research show that sunlight has a positive effect on mood. (Just ask anyone afflicted in mid-winter with seasonal affective disorder.) So open the blinds to your gym. Or, if sunlight isn't readily available, flick on the overheads.

Make some noise. Music you enjoy, whether Beethoven, The Beatles or punk rock, can make your workout more enjoyable and stress-alleviating. So might having a workout partner with whom you can share the excitement of the sport.

Shake it up. The last thing you want to do is add to your stress with boring workouts. Keep things interesting with varying exercises, sets and reps. And if one day you want to skip the gym altogether and do something else, that's fine.

Keeping yourself hydrated during your work out will make it even more effective. Don't forget to drink plenty of water! What I suggest is adding the juice of half a lemon to 32 ounces of water with a sprinkle of Steviva Brands Stevia Powder. Aside from being less than 2 carbs, you will get the health benefits that the stevia provides along with the vitamin C and electrolytes that lemon have. You can substitute limes for lemons if you get bored. Click here to order stevia powder. Now, starting working out.

YOUR SPIRIT

Vast and Potent
Silence
by Madisyn Taylor

Silence can make us nervous thinking we need to fill the void, but there is immense strength in silence.

All sounds, from a whisper to a classical symphony, arise out of silence and disappear into silence. But silence is always there beneath sound and is the space where sound can exist. We tend to think of silence as the absence of sound, but silence has its own weight and quality. When you listen to silence, you can perceive its intense depth and power. Taking the time to experience silence calms the mind and rejuvenates the body. Silence is the void where we can hear the many sounds that we often ignore – the voice of our intuition telling us the truth, the sound of the breeze blowing, the hum of the radiator, and the noises we make just because we are alive.

One way to experience silence is to wake up before the rest of the world has come alive. Try not to move into activity, and leave off the lights, radio, and television. Sit still and simply listen. You may hear your heartbeat or your breath, but keep your attention tuned to the silence that surrounds you. Stay this way for as long as you can, and allow the sound of silence to penetrate your body until it moves into your core. Feel the gentle, pulsing waves of silence and allow it to cleanse you. Five minutes of communing with silence can leave you feeling vibrant and connected to the universe.

At night, choose a moment after everyone around you has retired and tune in to silence. You can also experience silence throughout the day. Even in the midst of activity, moments of silence are always present. Usually we ignore or feel nervous around silence and try to fill these moments with sound. Yet silence is always there – vast, potent, and available for us to step into any time we choose.

YOUR RECIPE

Carbs Per Serving: 17 g
Prep Time:<25 minutes

Skill Level: Easy

The pumpkins are coming in and the are abound at the famrers market. This recipe uses pumpkin. You can make your own by peeling and steaming a fresh pumpkin or you can go to the store and by prepare pumpkin puree. Either way, this recipe will turn out beautifully. Check it out.

Ingredients:
1 cup half-and-half
1 (29-ounce) can pumpkin puree
2 tablespoon molasses
1 cup Fructevia or Steviva Blend
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
6 extra-large egg yolks
2 packages (4 teaspoons) unflavored gelatin
2 ripe banana, finely mashed
1 teaspoon grated orange zest, plus more for garnish, optional
2 cups cold heavy cream
1/4 cup Fructevia or Steviva Blend
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions:
Heat the half-and-half, pumpkin, molasses, Fructevia or Steviva Blend, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a heat-proof bowl set over a pan of simmering water until hot, about 5 minutes.

Whisk the egg yolks in another bowl, stir some of the hot pumpkin into the egg yolks to heat them, then pour the egg-pumpkin mixture back into the double boiler and stir well.

Heat the mixture over the simmering water for another 4 to 5 minutes, until it begins to thicken, stirring constantly. You don't want the eggs to scramble. Remove from the heat.

Dissolve the gelatin in 1/2 cup cold water. Add the dissolved gelatin, banana, and orange zest to the pumpkin mixture and mix well. Set aside to cool.

Whipped Cream :
Whip the heavy cream in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment until soft peaks form. Add the Fructevia or Steviva Blend and vanilla and continue to whisk until you have firm peaks. Fold half the whipped cream into the cooled pumpkin mixture.

Pour the mousse into a 7 by 4-inch souffle dish. Pipe or spoon the remaining whipped cream decoratively on the mousse and sprinkle, if desired, with orange zest. Serve chilled.
