Forty winks on your way to health
One of the most important things you can do to improve the quality of your life is nothing. That’s right… do nothing— not exactly nothing but, rather sweet slumber. Sleep; it heals us it rejuvenates us and many times we wake up with a new perspective on life. But, it is what goes on behind the scenes that really makes sleep important. Take for instance your memory. Sleep helps the brain commit new information to memory through a process called memory consolidation. Studies have shown people that took a nap after learning a new task tested better for recall than those who went without sleep. Besides helping you remember things sleep plays a huge role in your metabolism . Not getting enough sleep can lead to weight gain by impairing the way we process and store carbs. It also can tweak our fat burning hormones that affect our appetite. Want to improve your mood? Sleep your way to happiness. Not getting enough winks can result in irritability, impatience, concentration impairment, and of course moodiness.
So get your eight hours a night and you can avoid hypertension, increased stress hormone levels and it might even help fight cancer.
I think I will take my nap now.
Have a sensational week!
