Baked Pears and Apples with Crispy Granola Topping

for fruit
8 cups chopped pears and apples (unpeeled in 2-3 inch pieces)
 0.25 cup whole wheat flour
 1 heaping teaspoon cinnamon
 0.25 tsp nutmeg
 0.25 tsp ginger
for topping
 0.75 cup old fashioned oats
 0.25 cup Steviva Blend
 1 tbsp chia seeds
 0.25 tsp cinnamon
 1 pinch nutmeg
 24 tbsp sliced almonds (optional)
 2 tbsp cold unsalted butter
vanilla yogurt, ice cream, or whipped cream, etc. for serving (optional)

1

Preheat oven to 400ºF.

2

Grease a 10 inch round baking dish with cooking spray (a square baking dish or pie pan would also work).

3

In a large bowl, toss together pears, apples, whole wheat flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Spread in prepared pan.

4

In the same bowl, stir together oats, Steviva Blend, chia, cinnamon, and nutmeg. If desired, stir in almonds.

5

Cut butter into small chunks, then use a pastry blender or two knives to cut butter into the oat mixture until it is evenly distributed in tiny pieces.

6

Sprinkle over fruit.

7

Bake for 35-40 minutes, until topping is golden brown and crispy.

8

Allow to cool for 10 minutes, then serve with some vanilla yogurt, ice cream, or whipped cream, if desired.
