How Do I Use It?

Use it anywhere you use brown sugar or cane sugar, especially where coconut sugar’s natural hint of caramel flavor may be beneficial.

CocoSweet+ Plus will brown and carmelize in your recipes, just like regular coconut sugar.

CocoSweet+ Plus coconut sugar is twice as sweet as regular coconut sugar and table sugar.  In recipes, 2 cups sugar/regular coconut sugar = 1 cup CocoSweet+ Plus.

What Is It Made Of?

We combine the golden crystals of coconut palm sugar, with our pure stevia extract, SteviaSweet, to create a lower glycemic coconut sugar that tastes identical to regular, but has half the glycemic impact.

How Is It Made?

Coconut Palm Sugar:

Coconut palm sugar starts with harvesting or “tapping” the blossoms of a coconut tree. A small cut is made in the blossoms, allowing the sap to flow, similar to the process of harvesting maple syrup. The sap is collected, transfered to large woks and placed over moderate heat to evaporate the moisture.

As the water evaporates, it transforms into a deliciously thick syrup-like substance known as a “toddy.” From this form, it is further reduced to the usable crystals found in CocoSweet+ Plus.

Stevia:

SteviaSweet stevia powder starts its life as an all-natural stevia leaf. When the stevia leaves are processed, using only a natural water extractions process (never any petrochemicals or bleaches!), the result is a creamy white powder, called steviosides, or Rebaudioside A. It is 250 to 300 times sweeter than sugar yet has no carbohydrates or calories, and is safe for diabetics and those with hypoglycemia.

SteviaSweet stevia powder uses the least bitter, sweetest constituent of the stevia leaf, resulting in a sweet, clean flavor.

Health and Dietary Information:

The Glycemic Index of regular coconut sugar is only 35. With our proprietary blend of coconut sugar and stevia you are able to use half as much as regular coconut sugar, further reducing your glycemic impact.
