Getting Fatter on Low Fat
low fat does not mean low carb

When cruising the packaged food isle, which you shouldn't be doing any way, avoid packed foods labeled as low fat. More often than not, they save you only a few calories and, in doing so, they replace appetite satiating fats with sugar, fillers and carbohydrates that burn quickly, spiking your blood sugar, making you crash resulting in rebound hunger.

Researchers from the University of Alabama at Birmingham found that meals that limited carbohydrates to 43 percent were more filling and had a milder effect on blood sugar than meals with 55 percent carbohydrates. That means you'll store less body fat and be less likely to eat more later.

Total Servings 12
Serving Size 1 brownie
Carbs Per Serving: 4.4 g
Prep Time:<20 minutes

Skill Level: Moderate

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup cooked black beans drained and rinsed (1 - 15 oz. can)
4 eggs
1/2 cup Fructevia, Steviva Blend or a tiny dash to taste of Stevia
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons coconut oil or butter
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup ricotta cheese or cream cheese
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix all ingredients except for the nuts in a food processor or blender- blend very, very well.

Pour into an 8x8 greased baking pan sprayed with cooking spray or oiled with canola or olive oil.

Spread chopped nuts across the top.

Bake for 30-40 minutes. Until toothpick pulls out clean.

Let cool and serve.
