While consuming protein is the cornerstone of every low carb diet, I would recommend that you avoid pre-packaged meats and try to eat more fresh fish, chicken and even tofu as protein sources. You might consider cutting out meat products like bacon, sausage, prime rib, hot dogs, cured luncheon meats and replacing them with healthier choices like lean beef (round, loin, sirloin, filet) lean pork (tenderloin and center loin) skinless poultry, fish, eggs, raw nuts and seeds, all natural peanut butter, legumes and soy products like tofu.

Regardless of how many carbs you are cutting it is still a matter of calories taken in and calories burned and the less fat... the less weight you will gain and the more you will lose.

Water is paramount to your weight loss equation especially when consuming more protein. Drinking copious amounts of water flushes fats out of you system as well as increasing you metabolism. Sugar Free Low Carb Crackers

Skill Level: Easy

This recipe will produce a Faux Ritz Cracker. I tried it and I was astonished at the outcome and I am sure you will to. You have try it.

2 egg whites
1/8 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
1/4 envelope Sugar Free Gelatin -- Peach Flavor
1 tablespoon Steviva Brand Stevia Blend

Preheat oven to 300
With a hand mixer on low speed beat egg whites and cream of tartar until they start to get foamy. Mixer on medium high until egg whites are at soft peak.
Sprinkle in jello and Steviva Brand Stevia Blend. Crank mixer on high, beat to stiff peak.
Spray cookie sheets (I needed two), or foil lined cookie sheets (which was what I did) with non-stick spray (olive oil spray). Drop by spoon full into little blobs (like a bon-bon shape) about the size of a half dollar. The amount that I made came out to around 16-18 "crackers".
Put into a preheated 300 degree oven and watch them closely. In about three minutes the tops start to brown; touch to see if slightly firm. If firm, turn off the oven and leave the pans in. About 30-40 minutes later, remove.

"Crackers" should be lightly brown all over and come off the pan easily.

Options: I've made these also with egg white, a little garlic and curry powder whipped in (no Jello). Those were excellent too.
