The wicked game of fighting inches and pounds remains a struggle for a lot of us, no matter how determined, the problem is we just don't truly live fitness. When people tell me they have "tried everything," that is a clear indication that they haven't been taught the basics of fitness and diet, nor have they taken physical activity and nutrition seriously enough.

You must be willing to educate yourself on what are the most safe and effective ways to achieve success, then stick to your plan no matter what.

Your first step is to have a fitness professional outline a basic workout and nutrition format in order to form a foundation upon which you can build. Many health clubs provide this as part of you membership. I had mine done a few months ago at 24 Hour Fitness here in Portland. They even checked my metabolism which was very revealing.

The next step is to not think about "weight loss" or "fitting into designer clothes," but rather to build on this foundation with consistent overall fitness and nutrition. At the basic level, you should be exercising at least three or four times a week. Ideally, perform three or four days of cardiovascular activity, two days of resistance training, and at least two days of flexibility training per week. I do it and I know you can too!

You can do both cardio and strength training on the same day twice a week, then have one or two days left to solely concentrate on cardio. It is very important to stretch before and after each workout this will add to you flexibility tremendously which will pay off in Spades down the road..

Don't say you don't have time, because when something is a priority you can always find time. When I feel the temptation to skip I force my way through it and go anyway. I have made it a lifestyle. People succeed and fail every day based on whether or not they make their health a true priority. You have tried "everything"; it is now time to focus on one thing at a time.

One great and proven way to lose weight quickly and effortless is to drink more water --- over 96 ounces per day! Sound boring? What I suggest is adding the juice of half a lemon and if you want 1/2 cup of unsweetened cranberry juice to 32 ounces of water with a sprinkle of Steviva Brand Stevia Powder. Aside from being less than 2 carbs, you will get the health benefits that the stevia provides along with the vitamin C and electrolytes that lemon have. You can substitute limes for lemons if you get bored. Click here to order stevia powder.
