Enthusiasm first appeared in English in 1603 with the meaning "possession by a god." The source of the word is the Greek enthousiasmos, which ultimately comes from the adjective entheos, "having the god within". Enthusiasm clearly has every day connotations of being "inspired" or "excited". Enthusiasm is a good feeling! I would be willing to bet that most people if required to do a particular task, would (if they knew that they could) choose to it with enthusiasm.

Read this paragraph and then try the following. Close your eyes, go inside and just pay attention. Think of a task that has neutral connotations. Something you probably should do, but you can't honestly say you are fired up by it. If you are anything like me, that shouldn't be too hard! Now, draw your attention to the quality of enthusiasm, and notice how you would feel having introduced the quality of enthusiasm to this task.

Doesn't that feel better! People like enthusiasm. They like feeling enthusiastic, and they like people to feel enthusiastic around them.

Tips On Boosting Your Energy Quickly and Easily

Walking, cycling, stair climbing - any activity that makes your heart pump hard qualifies as cardiovascular or aerobic exercise. It's one of the cornerstones of a good fitness program and it's the best way to burn calories, strengthen bones, and build up healthy heart and lungs. Below, some ways to build your aerobic workout.

Frequency: Stick-to-it-ness pays big rewards
For overall good health, aim for at least three half-hour aerobic workouts each week. For excellent health, it's best if you can aim for up to five workouts per week. For weight loss, up the ante a bit more. Try for four to six slightly longer sessions per week. Don't overdo it: even elite athletes should train no more than six days each week, giving their bodies a day to fully recover.

Intensity: Work out hard for best results.
You'll want to exercise with enough intensity to keep your heart pumping at 60 to 80 percent of its maximum rate. This range is called your 'heart rate training zone.' Our target heart rate calculator can figure your maximum heart rate and apply the appropriate percentages. To see if you're in your training zone, take your pulse. Count it for 10 seconds and multiply by six to get the number of beats per minute. For another approach, try to carry on a conversation with the instructor or a training partner while exercising. If you cannot speak without breathing hard, you're working too intensely. Ease up a bit so that you can comfortably carry on a conversation. You're in the training range.

Time: All it takes is 30 minutes a day.
Beginners can start with 20 minutes or three 10-minute segments interspersed throughout the day. Eventually you'll build up to a continuous half-hour exercise session.

Type: Ride, run or walk, whichever you like best.
Cardiovascular activity is any exercise that raises your heart rate for a prolonged period. There are plenty of exercises to choose from, both in the gym and outdoors. Pick one or several and get to it!

Because we instinctively know that nature is good for us on many levels, it’s not unusual to feel powerfully drawn to it.

In this modern age, we spend so much time indoors, focused on the busyness of our lives and disconnected from the earth. But much of what we truly need can only be found under the naked sky, alongside tall trees, on open plains, or in the sound of running water. Spending time in nature allows us to commune with other living beings and to find comfort in the nurturing embrace of Mother Earth. You can’t help but experience a different sense of self while walking in a wood or traversing a mountainside. Being in nature connects us to the earth, grounding us as we walk, unhindered by concrete, upon her. Surrounded by other living beings, both bigger and smaller than we are, we remember that human beings are simply one form of life in this vast universe.

Because we instinctively know that nature is good for us on many levels, it’s not unusual to feel powerfully drawn to it. Even if you live in a city or find it difficult to travel to a forest or the countryside, there are a myriad ways to reconnect with nature. When you step out of your door each morning, pause for a minute and close your eyes long enough to let your senses absorb your surroundings. Listen and breathe deeply, until you hear the wind rustling through branches, smell rain on damp grass, and see the reflection of leaves brushing up against windowpanes. If you have time, crouch down and closely examine any nearby grass and soil. Low Glycemic Chocolate Angel Food Cake

We all know we are no angels but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be entitled to Angel Food Cake! This light and airy low glycemic and high protein cake satisfies chocolate lovers without tons of calories or carbs. Enjoy it plain or dress it up with fresh fruit, custard or a whipped topping. ½ cup tapioca flour or arrowroot
¼ cup cocoa
1 cup Fructevia, Steviva Blend or a dash Steviva Brands Pure Stevia Powder
10 egg whites
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon lemon juice


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Sift together tapioca flour or arrowroot, cocoa and half of the Fructevia, Steviva Blend or a tiny dash Steviva Brands Pure Stevia Powder.

In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites on low speed, slowly adding salt and lemon juice. Increase the speed. As soon as whites reach the soft-peak stage, begin adding remaining Fructevia, Steviva Blend or a tiny dash to taste Steviva Brands Pure Stevia Powder, a little at a time. Beat until whites are glossy and stiff.

Sift dry ingredients ¼ at a time over the whites, folding them in after each addition.

Spoon batter into a 10-inch un greased angel food cake tube pan with a removable bottom or a 10-inch bundt pan. (Do not use a pan with a no-stick surface and do not grease the pan.) Tap the pan once on the counter to help distribute batter.

Place pan on the middle rack in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes. Edges will pull from the sides of the pan.

Place cake (still in the pan) upside down on a rack. Traditionally, the pan is inverted on the neck of a wine bottle or funnel to cool. After an hour or more remove from pan and enjoy.
