I recall a mentor of mine once said to me that integrity is about keeping your word and if you become your word your word becomes universal. One of the secrets of success is learning to adopt an Attitude of Accountability.

An Attitude of Accountability is about keeping your word –doing what you say you’re going to do. Keeping your word is a standard or a value that draws people to you, creates complete trust and produces success.

How important is it for you to keep your word? Although it may sound a little old fashioned, keeping your word will never go out of style. But what, exactly, does it mean to "keep your word"? Simply this: To honor any commitment you make to another person.

Whether it is business or personal, the principle is the same. Meet your commitments, honor your obligations -- simply keep your word.

Here are a few tips that will help you build greater integrity in your life:

  • Never commit to doing something that you don't believe you can honor.
  • Before you commit to something, think of the long-term implications in terms of the time, effort and inconvenience that may be required.
  • Don't commit to do something simply for the sake of approval.
  • Jot down your commitment somewhere in writing so it doesn't slip your mind.
  • Never change your mind because of circumstances that occur after you make your commitment.

Keep The Weight From Coming Back

As you make your way along your weight loss journey, you may find you have a recurring fear: What if the weight comes back after I reach my goal?

The good news is that it doesn't have to be done all at once; it's accumulative through your day. Walk further, take the stairs, however you enjoy it.

Power is not about exerting our will over others, it is about being in complete truth with yourself.

Many of us have do not understand what personal power means. We have been given the false notion that power is bad—that it is something we use to exert our will upon others. In fact, when our personal power is intact, we are neither overbearing nor meek. We have a clear sense of our strength and the impact we can have on others. This actually enables us to be more sensitive. Personal power is what permits us to work on behalf of our dreams and desires. It allows us to realize that we are worthy and deserve to be heard. In addition, our personal power lets us extend the respect we know that we deserve to the people around us. There is no reason to be afraid or ashamed of fully owning your power.

In the chakra system, the solar plexus is the seat of personal power. One way to evaluate your sense of power is to breathe into this part of the body. If it feels tight or nervous, it is an indication that you may not be fully expressing your power. You can heal this imbalance by expanding the area of the solar plexus with your breath. You can also visualize a bright yellow sun in this part of your body. Allow its heat to melt any tension, and let its light dissolve any darkness or heaviness. Repeating this exercise on a regular basis can restore and rejuvenate your sense of power.

Another way to nurture your personal power is to honor your dreams and desires by making concrete plans to manifest them in the world. Start by making a list of things you want, and let yourself think big. Choose one goal from the list and commit to bringing it to fruition. In addition, break the goal into tasks that you can work on each day. Know that you deserve to have your dreams come true and that you have the power to bring them into being.


Reduced Sugar Low Glycemic Celery Margarita

Serving Size: 4 ounce glass

Tonight is taco night at our household. I am famous for my taco night. It is filled with fun and good fresh food with a Mexican twist. Tonight we will be having one of my latest creations... the Celery Margarita. I know what you're thinking; celery? Yes. It makes for a very tasty and refreshing low sugar twist on my all time favorite. Check it out. Make it for yourself and then let me know how much you like it.

This month we came out with our NEW Nectevia stevia fortified agave nectar. I am using this amazing and flexible sweetener for this low glycemic margarita.

6 celery stalks, washed, trimmed, and cut into 1-inch pieces
4 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice (from about 4 medium limes)
1 ounce NEW Nectevia (or 1 ounce of water mixed with 1 tablespoon of Steviva Blend, Fructevia
or a dash of Steviva Brand Stevia Powder)
8 ounces silver (blanco), 100 percent agave tequila
4 ounces Lillet Blanc ( I found this at Whole foods. You can use sweet vermouth as a substitute but, the Lillet is really better)
4 tender celery stalks with leaves (from within the bunch), trimmed to fit the glass, for garnish

Place the chopped celery, lime juice, and NEW Nectevia in a blender and blend on high until the stalks are completely broken down, about 30 seconds. (You may need to stop the blender and smash the celery pieces down more to get the blade spinning again.)

Set a fine-mesh strainer over a 1-cup measuring cup and pour in the celery mixture. Using a ladle, press on the solids to extract as much juice as possible. (You should have about 6 ounces of liquid.) Discard the solids in the strainer.

Place 4 martini or coupe glasses in the freezer to chill.

Place the celery juice mixture, tequila, and Lillet in a 1-quart container and stir to combine.

Place 6 ounces of the margarita in a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker halfway with ice and shake vigorously until the outside is frosty, about 30 seconds. Strain the contents into 1 of the chilled glasses, garnish with a celery stalk, and serve. Repeat to make 3 more margaritas.
