Listening to your intuition is one of the most powerful assets you can carry in your saving account of personal development tools. But, it is one of the most difficult to tap into. Most of us do not trust our intuition fully. Not because our intuition has ever steered us wrong, quite the contrary. Has there ever been a time in you life that you have fully listened to your intuition and the net result was not positive? Yet, we all doubt our intuition even though it has served us well. I have found that the reason for this “doubting Thomas” syndrome lies in the fact that intuition defies our need for logic. There is nothing logic based in listening to a “gut feeling”. There are generally no facts to back it up; it is just a feeling. And in these times feelings are unfortunately easily dismissed.
Whenever you have an intuitive or gut feeling, you will probably get some sort of physical sensation like a fluttering feeling in your chest or a feeling in your stomach.
Whenever that feeling that your intuition has been stirred focus on this physical sensation. When you practice feeling your intuition your body and mind make a mental note of what is going on. With time and practice these feelings will become very apparent to you. And over time you will begin to trust them. I recommend that you write it down when you encounter these feelings it will affirm everything you are feeling and strengthen your trust.
When you repeat this process over and over your confidence in your intuition will grow and eventually you will learn to listen and trust completely.
Here are a few tips on how to get in touch with and trust your intuition:
1. Be quiet
Practice taking time out every day to experience silence. Calm your mind with traditional or active meditation. Release your need to think, analyze, and know everything. The best information comes from the deep recesses of your spirit.
2. Be open and receptive
Open to the gift of intuition and accept what is has to tell you. Many times, our ego thinks it has it “all figured out,” but your true path may look very different than the one you are on. Being open to new possibilities and ways of living is paramount.
3. Be creative
There are many ways to be creative, painting, writing, dancing, designing a web site, etc. Do something that helps you get into the “flow,” that place where time seems to fly by and the work is leading you. Creativity is an expression of your spirit and goes hand-in-hand with intuitive guidance.
4. Ask questions
When you ask yourself questions, you gain additional insight and clarity. When you ask a question like “What is the next step I need to take?” know that you already know what you need to know. Trust yourself. You already have everything you need inside.
When you write, you tap into thoughts, feelings, ideas and direction that you are not consciously aware of. Writing allows the truth to come forth and is an easy way to gain insight from your inner self.
Over a short period of time you will develop a level of trust and clarity in yourself and your feelings that you have never experienced before.

Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibility. Your life to a large extent is what you make of it. Nothing will happen by itself. It will all come your way once you understand that you have to make it come your way.
Choose the thoughts and actions that will lead you to success. Nobody can do it for you.
Only you can make it happen. You're the only one that has to live your life.
The day you take complete responsibility for yourself, the day you stop making any excuses, that's the day you start on the road to success.
You have the power to succeed at anything. The power to fulfill your dreams is within you.

Have you heard the saying “if you don't have health, you don't have anything?” Well, it is true! If you are too sick, you won't be able to enjoy your free time, family, friends, or your finances. Americans are very giving, to their work, their family, philanthropy,etc, but there comes a point, when this giving can become an excess and create imbalances, in that they don't have anything left for themselves!
Take the airplane scenario, in the event that the cabin pressure changes what are you to do? Put on your oxygen mask, and then help others with theirs. Lets repeat this, take care of your self first! Why not apply this philosophy prior to the emergency moment, and take this as a way of life. The more you give to yourself and meet your bodies needs (air, water, food, movement), the more you can help and give to others.

Less Thinking and More Feeling

When we begin to listen with our hearts rather than our heads, our whole world changes and becomes softer.
Most of us were born and raised in cultures that value the head over the heart and, as a result, we place our own hearts below our heads in a sort of inner hierarchy of which we may not be conscious. What this means is that we tend to listen and respond from the neck up, often leaving the rest of our bodies with little or no say in most matters. This is a physical habit, which sometimes feels as ingrained as the way we breathe or walk. However, with effort and awareness, we can shift the energy into our hearts, listening and responding from this much deeper, more resonant place.
The brain has a masterful way of imposing structure and order on the world, creating divisions and categories, devising plans and strategies. In many ways, we have our brains to thank for our survival on this planet. However, as is so clear at this time, we also need the wisdom of our hearts if we wish to continue surviving in a viable way. When we listen from our heart, the logical grid of the brain tends to soften and melt, which enables us to perceive the interconnectedness beneath the divisions and categories we use to organize the world. We begin to understand that just as the heart underlies the brain, this interconnectedness underlies everything.
Many agree that this is the most important work we can do at this time in history, and there are many practices at our disposal. For a simple start, try sitting with a friend and asking him to tell you about his life at this moment. For 10 minutes or more, try to listen without responding verbally, offering suggestions, or brainstorming solutions. Instead, breathe into your heart and your belly, listening and feeling instead of thinking. When you do this, you may find that it’s much more difficult to offer advice and much easier to identify with the feelings your friend is sharing. You may also find that your friend opens up more, goes deeper, and feels he has really been heard. If you also feel great warmth and compassion, almost as if you are seeing your friend for the first time, then you will know that you have begun to tap the power of listening with your heart.

Serving Size 1 1/2 ounce piece

Prep Time:<25 minutes
Skill Level: Easy
1/2 cup Butter, cut into 8 pieces
1/2 cup Fructevia or Steviva Blend
1 cup chopped pecans, lightly toasted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Line an 8x8 inch pan with unbleached parchment paper and grease paper or spray with cooking oil.
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
Once the butter has melted, add Fructevia or Steviva Blend. Turn heat up to medium.
Stir the butter-Fructevia or Steviva Blend mixture constantly until all the crystals have dissolved and the mixture comes to a boil.
Gently boil mixture while stirring constantly for 10-15 minutes. It will begin to darken and caramelize. (NOTE: If you are using a candy thermometer, it will register just above 300F when it's finished. Watch it carefully!)
Remove from heat, stir in pecans and vanilla.
Pour mixture into prepared pan and let cool.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
