A Good Spring Cleaning
clean your house and cleanse you internal body for health

Today is truly a day of celebration for me. I have come off of the Master Cleanse (more) and have been without solid food for over 7 consecutive days. You may think that this was a crazy amazing feat however, it wasn’t that big of a deal and a lot came up for me. Let me start by saying I lost 13 lbs and increased my pH level from 6.0 to 7.0. I still have a way to go to hit my goal of a pH of 7.4-7.5 but, I am very pleased with the start and I have not felt this good in years. I am not kidding.
Spring cleaning has been a tradition for millenniums. Chinese medicine has been thinking about this for some 2000 years or more. In classical Chinese medicine each organ in the body is associated with a particular season. The liver, for example, is associated with the spring, a time for clearing out the old and making room for the new. From a metabolic point of view, the liver is the most important cleansing organ in the body. So maybe there is an underlying biological reason that has us thinking about cleaning each spring.

Day after day our bodies are asked to process a variety of potentially harmful substances: pollutants in the air, additives or hormones in our food, carcinogens, heavy metals, drugs, chemicals, and various other toxins. Clinically, toxicity levels in the body may contribute to a wide variety of conditions ranging from migraines or chronic fatigue syndrome, to fibromyalgia or neurological disease. A cleanse, therefore, is an opportunity for your body to eliminate existing toxins and better cope with the burdens we place on it.

My personal experience with my “spring cleaning” was excellent. Here’s a list of benefits I have gotten from the “Master Cleanse”:

  1. Senses. All my sense are enhanced. I can smell things I hadn’t noticed before. This is both good and bad.
  2. Energy. My energy levels are higher and I am not using any caffeine. I never missed a work out while I was cleansing.
  3. Weight loss. I lost a quick 13 lbs. Not bad for a week or work.
  4. Clarity. My clarity of thought is much better.
  5. Mood. I was always in good spirits but, the cleanse leveled out whatever mood swings were there.
  6. Cravings. My cravings for bad food are greatly diminished.
  7. Appreciation. I have a much greater appreciation for food. Instead of my first meal being bacon, eggs and a short stack, I have a sprouted whole grain tortilla, with humus, sliced tomatoes, avocados, and sprouts. It was heaven.

While the Master Cleanse and spring cleaning may have been right for me, it may not be right for all people. If you are suffering any health problems, it would be wise to consult your doctor before you do this. If you are healthy and decide to do it, email me and let me know your results and experiences.

I have to add that my sister who is in Medical School convinced me to to the "Master Cleanse". It was part of a research project at her school. If you are interested in being part of her study let me know and I will connect you with her.

Have an excellent week.

Make Your Mind Up To Be Anything You Want

Max Steingart

You're special and unique among all the creatures on the planet earth. You've been endowed with the capacity and the power to create desirable pictures inside your mind and to find them automatically printed in the outer world of your environment.

You'll gradually grow into any condition you desire, provided you first make yourself in habitual mental attitude the person who corresponds to that condition.

Picture yourself vividly as winning, and that alone will contribute immeasurably to your success. All your dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them.

A Quick Path to a Fast Energy Boost

Walking, cycling, stair climbing - any activity that makes your heart pump hard qualifies as cardiovascular or aerobic exercise. It's one of the cornerstones of a good fitness program and it's the best way to burn calories, strengthen bones, and build up healthy heart and lungs. Below, some ways to build your aerobic workout.

Frequency: Stick-to-it-ness pays big rewards
For overall good health, aim for at least three half-hour aerobic workouts each week. For excellent health, it's best if you can aim for up to five workouts per week. For weight loss, up the ante a bit more. Try for four to six slightly longer sessions per week. Don't overdo it: even elite athletes should train no more than six days each week, giving their bodies a day to fully recover.

Intensity: Work out hard for best results.
You'll want to exercise with enough intensity to keep your heart pumping at 60 to 80 percent of its maximum rate. This range is called your 'heart rate training zone.' Our target heart rate calculator can figure your maximum heart rate and apply the appropriate percentages. To see if you're in your training zone, take your pulse. Count it for 10 seconds and multiply by six to get the number of beats per minute. For another approach, try to carry on a conversation with the instructor or a training partner while exercising. If you cannot speak without breathing hard, you're working too intensely. Ease up a bit so that you can comfortably carry on a conversation. You're in the training range.

Time: All it takes is 30 minutes a day.
Beginners can start with 20 minutes or three 10-minute segments interspersed throughout the day. Eventually you'll build up to a continuous half-hour exercise session.

Type: Ride, run or walk, whichever you like best.
Cardiovascular activity is any exercise that raises your heart rate for a prolonged period. There are plenty of exercises to choose from, both in the gym and outdoors. Pick one or several and get to it!

Do not forget to drink a lot of water before, during and after your work out. Drinking 64 ounces of water everyday will help boost your energy. What I suggest is adding the juice of half a lemon to 32 ounces of water with a sprinkle of Steviva Brand Stevia Powder . Aside from being less than 2 carbs, you will get the health benefits that the stevia provides along with the vitamin C and electrolytes that lemon have. You can substitute limes for lemons if you get bored. Click here to order stevia powder. Now, start splashing.

Know Your Feelings

"We know too much and feel too little. At least, we feel too little of those creative emotions from which a good life springs."
-- Bertrand Russell

Many of the qualities that bring fulfillment in life are feelings, like love, joy, freedom and gratitude.

In our overly rational world, we tend to think about how we feel, which, of course, is not feeling at all -- it’s thinking.

Honor your feelings and be willing to experience them. They give us valuable feedback about what is and what is not working in our lives. They are the signposts to meaningful inner work.

"With just a little education and practice on how to manage your emotions, you can move into a new experience of life so rewarding that you will be motivated to keep on managing your emotional nature in order to sustain it. The payoff is delicious in terms of improved quality of life."
-- Doc Childre
